CONTEXT: This is the November edition of the monthly VUT STUDENT ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT AND WORK-INTEGRATED LEARNING (WIL) SHOW, the initiative of the VUT CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION UNDER THE CENTRE FOR ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT in partnership with COMETSA Friends & Supporters Club NPO, www.CometsaMember.Com.
FREQUENCY: This show airs on the last Wednesday of the month from 18h00 to 19h00 (SAST), except in December and January, when it is off the air.
About this event
THE GOAL: The show aims to contribute to the university's development, growth, and sustainability of Student Academic Development Support and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL).
DETAILS: We share information about student academic development support, showcase the impact of the WIL programme on career development, and support the university in reaching its diverse internal and external stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES: In our conversation with Saneliso Mavuka, Radio Content Coordinator, VUT FM, WIL Programme Graduate and alumnus of the Vaal University of Technology, we aim to achieve the following objectives.
- Background: place of birth, childhood memories, upbringing, the type of community (village, township, etc.) she grew under, basic education, and high school education.
- Foundational Transitions: how she managed transitions from primary to high school, high school to the university.
- Choice Line of Study: We will hear how she decided on her line of study, who influenced her choice, the role her foundational schools played in this choice, and the mentors or advisors who supported her transition to the university.
- Choice of institution: We want to know why and how she ended up with the Vaal University of Technology, her university of choice for her studies, and how she came to join VUT FM as the Radio Content Coordinator.
- Role in the VUT WIL Programme: We would like to facilitate a conversation in which Saneliso shares her role in the university’s WIL Programme with the listeners.
- Challenges: We do not want to assume that Saneliso is sailing through her work without any challenges. She will gladly share with the listeners how she deals with them. After all, that is one of the strategic objectives of this show and the VUT Student Academic Development Support and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme of the CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION under THE CENTRE FOR ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT.
